Hello! Although the majority of Habr's readers do not need to explain what a
CAPTCHA is , why it was invented and what it is used for, I will allow myself a little historical excursion.
So, earlier, to register on the site or leave a comment, people broke their eyes, guessing the captcha:

Who had vision problems, could often listen to it:
To solve the problem "on an industrial scale" they used Indians or Chinese :)
In 2007, smart people from Carnegie Mellon University came up with a
ReCAPTCHA to also continue to fight with
people bots, but also to do useful work - to help digitize books. Under the motto “ReCAPTCHA - Stop Spam, Read Books” the project went to the masses.
')
Remember how it all began? In 2009, after the purchase of the project, everyone began to help Google to recognize house numbers.
Photos from Google Street View In 2015, after the next update, using ReCAPTCHA (“No CAPTCHA ReCAPTCHA”) became even easier. Now it is enough to put a tick in front of "I am not a robot" / "I'm not a robot":
If your "humanity" was in doubt, you
just had to choose a few pictures correctly. For example, all the windows, road signs, trains and much more.
Technology does not stand still. Robots quite successfully crack now ReCAPTCHA.
And now in the case. Google is testing the following version of ReCAPTCHA -
ReCAPTCHA Invisible :

Its essence is that now there will be no need to press / enter / select anywhere to confirm that you are human. For users, everything will be transparent if the “captcha” has no doubts about its “humanity”.
The project is in the beta stage, but you can get the code of “invisible” recaptcha right now on
this page . Documentation for developers with examples of implementation is available
here .
What kind of captcha did you have to see?
