Today our guest is Ilya Titov from Modbank . He has been working in this field since 2001. Ilya worked in the companies of the FSU (developer of remote banking services), BFT (automated budget control systems), BIS (automated banking systems), Sberbank.

In Modbank, he has been managing director of IT since the beginning of the project creation (2014).

What do you do in the company?

Manage IT Risk. I organize the comfortable work of the department staff. I do not interfere with the tasks performed by my employees (smiles).

One word that best describes how you work:

Fair.

How many hours a day do you spend on work?

One of my teachers said that only a plumber works 8 hours, and an engineer works around the clock. For example, I can wake up at night, write down a thought or test a hypothesis.

How many hours do you sleep?

Different: from 4 to 6 hours usually.

How do you have breakfast?

Omelet with ham and cheese, tea. Upon arrival at the office I take coffee.

What are you doing on the way to / from work?

Usually steering wheel (smiles). When you ride a motorcycle, you don’t really talk on the phone.

What kind of todo-manager do you use personally?

Tasks. Standard iphone application. I tried others, I did not like it. The simplest is the most reliable.

What applications and services can't you do without?

Telegram, mail, bank clients.

What kind of task manager / issue tracker / repository do you use in the company?

We use the Atlassian stack.

What other working environment (tools and software) do you use at work?

Telegram, mail, phone - that’s the manager’s weapon. And JIRA, of course.

Does the company have internal projects?

We have all internal projects: only our external service, the product itself.

What annoys you most when you work?

Incompetence and inability to formulate their thoughts. If the question is about what can knock out of the state of the stream, then this is definitely repair work. Especially job punch.

We used to be located in the Federation Tower in Moscow City. There we had a permanent building on the other floors. Enraged strongly.

What professional literature would you recommend?

If for a manager, then it is necessary to read Eliyahu Goldwright. Especially his "Target".

What do you prefer: electronic reading rooms or paper books?

Definitely paper. I really like tactile sensations: when you take a normal book, you feel it. With electronic not so.

What technique and why do you prefer at work and at home?

Apple

What do you listen when you work?

If about music, then nothing. Distracts.

Which life hack allows you to be more efficient?

Not a life hack. I do not like this word, what is called life hacking is just an accidentally discovered rule or tool that you have not previously used because of ignorance or not skill.

I simply ask myself the question “why?” At the start of each task. After the answer is found, I work according to the motto: "Fast, Reliable, Secure."

What kind of professional advice for the future can you give yourself?

Do not dig. Do not bother people to work (smiles).

What would you recommend to a person trying to go the same way?

Always answer for your words.
