We want to give you a New Year's gift, but we need your help!

Yes Yes exactly. We have been trying to improve the USB stack in ReactOS for a long time. And we know how you want it! One of the extreme attempts was a project within GSoC 2016. This project was successful, the task set within its framework was completed, but on the whole, the work done was not enough. Having grabbed the baton, another volunteer developer, Vadim Galyant, took up the missing gaps.

And now Vadim Galyant appeals to all of you with a request to help with testing:
So today at the second old sistemnik the test passed at last. I tested the usbport.sys driver on the XP file replacement method already installed.

We need tests on different configurations and hardware (and virtual machines) and tests of different devices. As I wrote, there is no support for isochronous broadcasts (this is audio, video, etc. multimedia). Therefore, on computers with built-in video cameras, there will most likely be problems (if they are not disabled). There is also no support for Transaction Translator (this is when connecting non-USB20 devices via USB20 Hub). In general, you need extensive testing. To aim at getting into a trunk, you need confidence in the absence of bugs.

To make a test, you need to take usbport.sys, obtained from https://github.com/vgalnt/reactos/tree/usbport , and boot from the live media to replace the file in x: \ WINDOWS \ system32 \ drivers \ (not forgetting the insurance copies ). It is desirable on W2003, but it is possible and on XP.

We are counting on your help! The future of ReactOS is in your hands!

To inspire you to great deeds, we attach a video about how the youngest representatives of humanity test ReactOS.

We naguguli this video on the Internet, and judging by the voice, the boy is not more than 7 years. Enjoy!
