The digest of interesting materials for the mobile # 185 developer (December 19-25)

The latest digest of this year is how to make a VR application, fingerprints, mobile QA, interfaces and dialogs, Super Mario and MSQRD. Well, a little in advance, but all of us are happy! Hooray!

VR application from scratch on libgdx: part 1

Virtual reality is rapidly gaining popularity among users, but still remains inaccessible to many developers. The reason is trivial - many people write games in frameworks to which the Cardboard SDK cannot be screwed, and learning to work in another framework is not possible or just lazy. The same is with Libgdx, where, despite attempts to cross the grass with a hedgehog, it is still not possible to create VR games and applications.

Android Fingerprint API: we assign fingerprint authentication

It took quite a lot of time, as the Fingerprint API for Android appeared, there are many separate samples of code for its implementation and use on the network, but for some reason this topic was avoided on Habré. In my opinion, it is time to correct this misunderstanding.

What do mobile QA and octopus have in common?

Sooner or later, each mobile tester wonders how many devices to test the new functionality in order to catch the maximum number of device-dependent bugs, spending a minimum of time. Auto tests are not written yet, in front of you are absolutely new features. And if there is at least some clarity with iOS, and the list of devices is limited, then Android has “bred” to hell. You'd be surprised, but for happiness you need only three or four Android devices.
