What will happen at the event
We will tell you how the official contest rules have changed.
We will tell you how the competition will be held this year in Russia.
We will give a brief overview of the most modern technologies that will be useful in projects: Bot Framework, IoT, Xamarin, Azure ML, etc.
For those who wish - we will conduct two laboratory work on IoT and the creation of bots. To participate in the lab - you need to bring a laptop running Windows 10, with Visual Studio 2015 installed
Successful Imagine Cup project managers will share their experience in organizing teams and distributed work on student projects.
At the end of the event, we will provide time for individual consultation with experts / mentors and register the already formed projects for a special mentoring / nano-acceleration program .
For those who are not from Moscow, but want to take part
We will not do the official broadcast of the entire event, but we will make a spontaneous broadcast on Periscope or Facebook Live. Look for it by the #imcup tag.
Those who want to share the idea of the project in advance and discuss it with a mentor or get on the nano-acceleration program - describe to me the idea of the VKontakte project, and we will communicate.
Questions can be asked on Twitter with the tag #imcup , we will answer them
Major changes
The main changes in the rules of the contest, which you should know about:
The main prize in the international competition increased to $ 100K
The size of the team is now from 1 to 3 people. We analyzed the trend of past years and realized that most of the teams fit into 3 people (for example, the winners of 2015 and 2016 from Russia, for example).
The main focus this year will be on the technical implementation of the project (50% of the weight in official evaluation criteria). At the same time , the use of Microsoft Azure cloud technologies is mandatory .
One category of competition replaces three categories. You no longer need to choose which category to participate in, as well as customize your project under the category
As a result: any modern high-tech project can participate in the Imagine Cup competition (if it uses the Microsoft Azure cloud).
See you at the event!
In more detail we will answer all the questions at the event itself. You can also ask them in the comments, but we reserve the right to answer these questions after December 16th.
