Letter text from Steve Jobs to Apple employees

The launch of MobileMe did not become our high point. There are some things we could do better:

- MobileMe does not meet Apple standards - this clearly takes more time and testing.

- Instead of launching MobileMe as a monolithic service, we could start by starting synchronization with the iPhone, and then launch the web applications one by one - firstly Mail, 30 days later (if everything is fine with mail) Calendar, and then 30 days later Contacts.

- Launching MobileMe at the same time as iPhone 3G, iPhone 2.0 firmware and the App Store was an error. This is more than enough for MobileMe to launch without delay.

We are taking a number of steps to learn from this experience to improve MobileMe services that our customers will love. One of the steps I can share with you is that the MobileMe team will report to Eddy Cue, who heads all of our online services - iTunes, the App Store and, from today, MobileMe. In the new position, Eddy will become vice president of Internet services and will report directly to me.

The launch of MobileMe clearly indicates that we need to learn more about Internet services. The future of MobileMe is both exciting and ambitious, and we will try to make this service, which we will all be proud of, by the end of this year.
