VKontakte social network has announced new changes. From now on, she will sell advertising in communities directly and share revenue with administrators of communities and pages. The size of the commission is not yet known. In general, the model resembles the scheme, according to which “Yandex” is currently working, - partners refuse to advertise their own advertising and deal only with content.

The revenue of administrators will depend on the quality of the audience. The company promises to tighten the moderation to weed out casino advertising, as well as free cheese in a mousetrap .

Not all communities will be allowed to test but only groups with unique content and an audience of at least 500 thousand.

Testing will begin in 2017. One of the objectives of testing will be to study how the audience of the participating communities overlap with the audience ordered by the advertiser - the greater the intersection, the higher the community income from published ads.

The impetus for the development of communities is the possibility of their monetization. However, sometimes this leads to the appearance in the groups of a large number of “low-grade advertising records” that repel users, noted VKontakte development director Alexander Kruglov.

In the meantime, advertisers can sell ads in communities through the VKontakte exchange launched in 2013. Through it, you can agree on the publication, the cost of advertising and other placement conditions.
