Every month we hold CoLaboratory meetings, at which technicians with different interests can meet and talk with experts from Kaspersky Lab. The next meeting, which will be held on November 21 in our Moscow office, will be devoted to the protection of automated process control systems. Specialists with experience in designing, implementing and operating an automated process control system will share their experience in the protection of such systems.

In the first report, Maxim Nikandrov (iGRIDS) and Fyodor Ivanov (EnLab) will talk about the benefits of CTF for preventing information security incidents at power facilities by updating the threat model. Practical security tournaments are held quite often lately. However, not all of them use equipment and software that is actually used in existing electrical substations. The speakers promise to describe the applied object models and talk about the results of recent tournaments.

In the second report, our developers Sergey Maslov and Innokentiy Zubakin will present an analysis of vectors and scenarios of cyber attacks, major equipment vulnerabilities and network exchange protocols using the example of the Kaspersky Industrial CTF 2016 electrical object model. They will also tell how the use of network activity monitoring systems reduces the risk of compromised power facilities and process control system as a whole.
In the third report, Alexander Lifanov (Advantech) will invite participants to take a look at the cybersecurity of the automated process control system through the eyes of the operation service. He also promises to give examples of successful construction of PLC-programs.
In the final part of the event - a discussion in the format of "free microphone". Each visitor will be able to share his own thoughts on the cybersecurity of the automated process control system and ask him questions.
