LinkedIn introduces company profiles

These pages (you need to login LinkedIn to see them) take information from Capital IQ (a subsidiary of BusinessWeek) - descriptions, addresses, creation dates of companies, etc. Many companies that are recorded in profiles of people are not large enough and do not have entries in the Capital IQ database, so LinkedIn is going to use aggregated data of its users to display information about these companies.

Companies will be shown on the pages of companies related to their common interests, new hired employees, as well as the so-called “headliners” - the most popular on LinkedIn and often mentioned in the press employees of these companies.

These data will also be used to compare companies, it will be possible to see which companies are losing people now and which, on the contrary, are acquiring new employees.

Wiki functionality will also appear in company profiles, which employees of these companies can use, company news and personalized job offers.
