Wristwatches with high-tech filling for us is not news. What is special about this model?
The only copy of the model UKA 659 (UKA means “Uhr KAmera”, or “watch-camera” translated from German) was developed in the 1960s in the Munich laboratory by the famous optician Heinz Kilfitt. Even in our digital age of the most miniaturized gadgets, this device, which is about to be 50 years old, is still capable of making an indelible impression. Surprise is caused not so much by the watch itself, but by the miniature camera built into it.

The photos are stored on a special 8-frame film with a frame size of only 5.6 mm, which you can hardly find in modern photo equipment stores. The camera lens has a constant focal length of 10.5 mm, and the maximum aperture value is f / 3. On a 35 mm film, a lens with a focal length of 10.5 mm creates an image with a fisheye perspective, but in this case the frame size is smaller, so the viewing angle is approximately equal to that on modern compact digital soap dishes with a small matrix size. The shutter speed can be set using a rotating wheel, and in a fairly wide range - from 1/15 to 1/1000 sec.

UKA 659 is the perfect gadget for any fan of James Bond style devices, but you can forget about buying: at eBay, this device costs about $ 60,000. Reasonable price for a unique piece of history!
