Google becomes openid provider

After the November test of OpenID as an access to the Blogger service, Google announced that it was itself becoming an OpenID provider. Earlier this month, it was already reported that IBM and VeriSign will soon join the ranks of those who use the OpenID standard.

From now on, Blogger users will be able to use the URLs of their blogs as an OpenID login, by activating this feature in the control menu on draft.blogger.com .

Steps to implement this idea, Google has taken after last week it was announced that more than 250 million Yahoo users will be able to use their logins as OpenID.

It is reported that the number of Blogger users ranges from 10 million to 50 million people, but due to the fact that this system is a paradise for spammers, it is not clear how many real users will use the new service.
