10 Rules for Startup Success by Loic Le Meur (Source Financial Times)

The full version of the article from the Financial Times is here for lovers of authentic reading :).
The Financial Times published an interview with a French entrepreneur (now living in Silicon Valley (Silicon Valley) Loic le Meur).

Loic founded uBlog (bought by Six Apart - the former owner of Live Journal), organizes the annual Le Web conference, and also launched a new project Seesmic.
')
In the article, Loi gives 10 rules for startup success (I really like some of the rules, especially with regard to marketing and strategy). Further translation of the 10 rules (I tried :):

1. Do not wait for a revolutionary idea. So do not wait. Better focus on a simple but “excitingly empty” niche and quickly implement a new project.

2. Share your idea. The more you discuss it, the more “practical” advice you can get and the more you will learn. Meet and communicate with your competitors (my comment: probably these are features of doing business abroad).

3. Build a new community around the project. Write on blogs and use social networks so that people hear about you.

4. Listen to the community. Answer questions and refine the product, receiving feedback (feedback) from users.

5. Build a great team. Let the people on your team differ in their experience and skills. Look for people who are more experienced than you (my comment: where to get them :).

6. Be the first to find any problems that arise, quickly identify the problems that arise. Everyone makes mistakes. Conduct a public discussion and adjust the course (my comment: in our opinion, dirty linen in public).

7. Do not waste time researching the market. Run the test version, the sooner the better. Finalize the product on the go.

8. Do not get carried away with a business plan. All the same, everything goes wrong as you planned and expected.

9. Don't plan a big promotion (big marketing efforts). More importantly, the community will love your product.

10. Do not focus on the idea of becoming rich. Focus on users. Money is a consequence of success, not a goal.

And a super blog post came out here , but in English.
