Vixta is a Linux distribution with probably the smallest target audience: for Linux users impressed with Windows Vista and wanting their desktop to look the same.
Vixta is based on Fedora with customized KDE. Together with the widgets, the main menu a la Vista and the taskbar, you get angry looks from your more dedicated counterparts. However, inside it is still Linux, not Windows. If you are a Linux user, it will probably be convenient, but for Windows users, this is unlikely to convince to switch to Linux.
Windows applications, as usual, run under WINE, and programs come from the usual composition of Linux, even though the main menu looks like Windows. That means Konqueror instead of Explorer, OpenOffice instead of just Office, and Firefox instead of ... Firefox. OK, it may not be so hard to change the OS,
but explain it to your grandmother ...
