10 weak points of the human mind (Steve Pavlina)

  1. Bad hard drive. Testimony is surprisingly inaccurate. When a person is asked to describe what he has just seen - often he omits critical details, changes real data and adds something that was not there at all. And this is a bad idea - to rely too much on your memories, as they are probably full of mistakes. Most likely you do not even remember what you are wearing now;
  2. Small amount of RAM. Our brain can only process what is loaded into its operational memory. And how much we cannot understand because our brain lacks this operational capacity to store all the subtleties and details necessary for reflection. Probably because of this, we have complete porridge in our heads;
  3. Slow cpu. Let's just say - you are not the best tool for this work - to make calculations;
  4. Exposure to infinite cycles. Once you have a habit of thinking or acting in a certain way, changing it in the future may turn out to be quite an easy task. So bad habits, dependencies and Republicans are born;
  5. No error correction. As soon as errors appear in the system, they tend to accumulate. One wrong decision, left uncorrected, will attract more and more wrong. This is how people drown in debt, gain extra weight and get a job ( translation of the article into Russian ), only to regret it later. Apparently, we are much more willing to be stupid than to seem so;
  6. Limited ability to enter information. Our input data channels are limited to five senses (six, for some of us), each of which has a narrow range of possibilities. We cannot see through the walls, we cannot touch people at a great distance, and we cannot hear what people in the neighboring building are talking about ... of course, if we do not work for the CIA ;
  7. Weak networking capabilities. Information exchange between two people is very slow and boring, errors may creep into it and the protocol of this exchange is completely discouraging. Obviously, Microsoft was involved in its development;
  8. High maintenance cost. Who wants to use equipment that is overloaded for eight hours, suffers from frequent data loss and is regularly infected with viruses? Well, except for the US Department of Homeland Security ;
  9. Heredity code. The instability of the system is often a consequence of the use of obsolete software code that has passed down by inheritance. The impressive capabilities of the human mind are manifested in the reactions of "fight or run", at the moment when you invite a girl for a date. Such a reaction is certainly good, if she refuses you, she will try to eat you. DOS was good in its time, but it will not help us save Antarctica now;
  10. Unreliable equipment. It is only a matter of time when the critical component of our system will fail and the entire system will be thrown to the human landfill. Of course, it would be nice to have backup equipment in stock by this time, but in any case, we now have a great opportunity to try hundreds of different types of ice cream before we leave.

I would say that we needed an upgrade long ago.
By the way, you cheated in paragraph 1?
Sorry, Antarctica.
