Google at the conference Searchonomics announced the experimental program
Google Gadget Ventures . The goal of this program is to “revitalize the economic ecosystem around the gadgets” (hereinafter the quotation of the press release).
The program has two directions. Firstly, this is an opportunity for Google gadget developers to get a grant of $ 5000 for the development of their creations. Developers can qualify for this grant if their gadget is in the Google directory "and has at least 250,000 page views weekly." Applicants must provide a detailed plan on how they will use the grant to improve their programs.
Google’s second offer is an investment of $ 100,000 "for developers who want to build a business using Google gadgets." Applicants must be among the recipients of a subsidy of $ 5,000 (i.e., the initial amount is a test to find out what developers can do with a small amount). To apply for an investment from Google, applicants must submit a business plan “how do you plan to create a viable business around the gadget platform”.
Thus, Google encourages third-party developers that “gives them [developers] the opportunity to expand and diversify the world of gadgets in a profitable and sustainable way [for Google]”. In other words, third-party developers help make money for the corporation, for which they receive a bit of cash from it. Win-win in action.
