The animated logo of the London Olympics 2012, made in the style of a puzzle and immediately caused a negative public reaction, was removed yesterday from the official web site of the 2012 Olympics . The reason, according to the organizers, was that the animated logo may cause epileptic seizures.
More than a year ago, the organizing committee of the Olympiad held a competition for logo design. The victory was won by the agency Wolff Olins . The works of Wolff Olins are known in Russia to everyone - these are the corporate brands Beeline (yellow-black circle) and MTS (egg).

The Olympics logo, whose design cost 400 thousand pounds (796 thousand dollars or 590 thousand euros), is composed of four uneven fragments that form the 2012 figures. It was intentionally designed to attract the attention of young people and look spectacular on the Internet.
British charity organization Epilepsy Action reported that 10 people complained about this animation on Tuesday. Some of them experienced a seizure when viewing shots with a diver plunging into the pool.
“We just received a problem notice, and we immediately took steps to remove this animation from our web site,” the spokeswoman for the London Olympic Committee said. - “We will edit this film again.”
The logo promulgated on Monday has already been ridiculed. After just a few hours, an online petition appeared requiring the development of a new logo design. At the moment, more than 38,000 people have signed up for the petition, the number of signatures is growing at a speed of 30-40 signatures per minute.
The founder of the London Design Museum Stephen Bayley (Stephen Bayley) said that the logo is "children's scribbles, artistic failure and a commercial scandal."
Sebastian Coe, head of the organizing committee of the Games, said that the design in the style of graffiti was made in order to attract the attention of young people. On the official website of the Games, moving images on the flash logo were shown. Unlike the previous Games, the logo does not contain the visual symbols of the city or the country that hosts the Games.
