Distributed monitoring: the next expansion of the HostTracker service network

Already more than 100 cities in the world are included in the HostTreker monitoring network after the next network update. What is a big network for? Is it easy to find hosting, for example, in Kenya? What are the advantages of distributed monitoring and what opportunities does this open up? These and other questions are disclosed under the cut.

In search of the lost hosting

Actually, the latest expansion of the network brought the total number of servers beyond the first hundred. This was made possible through cooperation with MaxiDed , a hosting service provider with servers in 70 countries. We are very grateful for this, because at a certain stage we ran into a problem: it turns out that not all countries can easily find hosting. And where it is possible - it is not always easy to buy it. For example, there are frequent situations when for the purchase of a hosting (not even a domain!) In a certain country it is necessary to have a legal entity there. Or, for example, to pay the bill through a certain bank, being a resident of the country. As you understand, starting a legal entity in distant and hot deserts or at least distant ice in order to be able to pay a monthly bill in the amount of $ 5 is a dubious joy. It is even impractical to seek intermediaries at such speeds. Therefore, such assistance is very valuable - through this company we managed, having agreed once, to get a lot of servers in different countries, where previously we couldn’t or didn’t manage to get on our own. By the way I want to add, besides the obvious legal problems, the search for hosting in distant countries brings a lot of other valuable experience, for example: the lack of English-speaking support - communication on gestures on the network or an advanced Google translate course; payment systems - how to find a relatively legal method for transferring money where it is necessary (offshore scandals have a rest); globalization, or mindfulness exam: 1000 South African rand - a lot or a little? And if services rise in price by 10%, will the price remain acceptable? All this and a lot of other things, quite possibly, could be enough for an adventure book on online travel, whose code name could sound like the title of this section.

More is better. Why?

HostTrecker is monitored by regular checks from different parts of the world. So, why do we spend efforts on connecting new servers to the network?
')
First, reliability and flexibility. The system can use the server as needed, always having spare options. If suddenly a partner transfers a server, it is not necessary to look for a replacement in an emergency order.

Secondly, the improvement of some functions. For example, ping or download speed is directly dependent on the distance of the servers. The closer to the client - the greater the range of opportunities we can provide him.

Thirdly, solidity. Whatever you say, but from a marketing point of view, many countries are good. Our company provides services to customers from dozens of countries around the world. Having a server in their home country is a weighty argument when choosing a service. And besides, and in search engines from this country, the issue is improved.

Now we continue to develop our network in order to improve coverage by regions in those countries where we already have, and of course, new discoveries, of course. We are always glad to your wishes and suggestions.
