AllofMP3 is a Russian web service that sells music in digital format without any protection at low prices. This site violates the laws of the United States and many other countries, but is quite legally operating under the laws of Russia.
AllofMP3 became the focus of attention due to disputes between the US and Russian governments; at the moment it is he who is the only obstacle on the way of Russia to the World Trade Association. According to the newspaper Kommersant, this week, the representative of the US Department of Commerce Susan Schwab demanded that the site be closed.
In general, AllofMP3 benefits from this conflict. Representatives of the site administration say that such close attention of the US government only helps to promote and increase sales. Kommersant estimates AllofMP3 revenues at US $ 25-30 million annually.

reports that the State Duma of Russia has already approved the bill, according to which AllofMP3 can be closed.
Regardless of what happens with this service, its success clearly shows that buyers are willing to pay for music, digitized in high quality and without DRM protection. Nowadays, almost every new album (as well as a TV show, movie) is available for download via p2p networks, an increasing number of labels are trying to sell music without copy protection. Personally, I am willing to pay for guaranteed quality and good download speed (even though via a p2p network), if there is no DRM protection there (which will allow me to burn music to CDr, download it to my iPod, etc.). And I would rather pay for music without copy protection, rather than downloading DRM files for free.
