RailsClub 2016: October 22 in Moscow will be the creator of Ruby Yukihiro Matsumoto and not only
Hi Habr! Three months left before the main Ruby event of the year in Russia. The RailsClub 2016 Conference will be held this year on October 22 in Moscow, in the Technopolis Congress Center. An excellent list of speakers, the hottest topics, one day, two streams, 500 participants. Begin to reveal the details!
This year's conference is especially important for us. First of all, because after long years of persuasion, Ruby creator Yukihiro Matsumoto himself will come to us to speak! We have been preparing for this event for a very long time, we recorded an invitation video for Matsumoto-san with the help of the entire community. If you have not seen, then see: ')
Everything worked out! Yukihiro Matsumoto will give a talk. And if you have questions about why Ruby is so and not otherwise, be sure to come and ask the person who started it all. Buy a ticket , and we are already doing for Matsumoto-san a visa to Russia.
Another guest from Japan is Akira Matsuda . A person who does a lot of things in the open source world, a committer in Rails, Ruby, Haml, the creator of a heap of popular plugins and libraries: Kaminari, activedecorator, actionargs, i18ngenerators, html5validators, motorhead, erd, database_rewinder, etc. And the creator of the Ruby community in Japan, Asakusa.rb.
The third speaker does not come to us for the first time, and we are glad to welcome him again to the conference. Steve Klabnik , Rails and Ruby committer, recently has been mainly working on Rust. It so happened that at each conference we speak not only about Ruby, but also about languages and technologies that will help expand technical horizons. Rust is one of the most talked about young programming languages. It will be cool to hear about its capabilities from a person from the core team.
Sean Griffin from Shopify, Rails committer and maintener all beloved Active Record. He is co-host of The Bike Shed podcast and creator of Diesel, ORM and query builder for Rust. Having spent more than ten years in this field, he now works at Shopify, fully devoting himself to open source. And he makes very cool reports - we are already looking forward to it.
And we realized that not enough time is spent on the frontend (and ruby developers often have to deal with such tasks). Therefore, this year’s program has an excellent report from Zach Briggs , JavaScript practice lead in TableXI. The report is called JavaScript for Rails Devs.
In total, the program will include about 20 speeches, we have already announced speeches by several wonderful Russian speakers: Boris Kuznetsov (Evrone), Anton Davydov (moscow.rb), Tatyana Vasilyeva (RubyMine from JetBrains), Cyrus Shatrova (Shopify), Alexey Taktarov (Evil Martians) ). Soon we will begin to publish in the social networks and on the website topics and abstracts.
We have already received more than 20 applications for performances, but there is still a chance to get into the program! Until August 20, we accept applications with the topic and theses to the mail elena@evrone.ru, after which we will select the most relevant and useful. Write!
Every year our conference is supported by great companies that care about Ruby and Rails. This year, the conference partners are already Toptal , Rambler & Co and JetBrains . Want to be one of the best ruby companies? See proposal for sponsors .
And of course, come to the conference. The best rubists from all over Russia, insights on the development of technology first-hand, a wonderful atmosphere, bright afterparty! Registration on the site , tickets now cost 7,000 rubles (from August 15 it will be more expensive!)
