Once again about the button "Back"
Recently, reconfiguring Firefox, I remembered the advice about reducing the “Back” button ( Setting and using new features of Firefox 3.0 ) and discovered a curious thing.
Right-click on the toolbar → Customize ... → Checkbox “Small icons” → Done:

I looked, unchecked the box and saw this picture:
The toolbar icons remained large, and the Forward and Back buttons became small and round. Looks pretty nice. Firefox 3.0.1. In 3.0 like this was not observed.
Unfortunately, after restarting, the original big buttons are returned.
