Teach practical security: Summer internship at Positive Technologies

We at Positive Technologies are not only engaged in the development of products that provide security for the infrastructure of many companies and government institutions, but also actively help develop the IT and IS industries of our country. To do this, we open development offices in different cities, support universities in the framework of the Positive Education educational program, share developments in the framework of the free webinars program and act as organizers of one of the brightest "hacker" conferences in Europe Positive Hack Days .

This year we decided to go even further and organize a summer practice for students, information security practitioners, HackQuest-erov and just lovers of information security. So, today we will talk about the summer internship at Positive Technologies in the course “Fundamentals of practical safety”.

Program

The internship program is still being finalized, but now the circle of topics that will be considered in the classroom is already clear. About them below:

1. Introductory lesson

• classification of vulnerabilities OWASP / WASC, typical vulnerabilities of web applications and business applications;
• passive collection of information, active collection of information, the use of security scanners, writing utilities, the use of proxy servers.

2. Search and operation

• Xss
• SQL Injection
• XXE, SSRF

3. Vulnerabilities of business applications

• authentication, authorization, identification;
• two-factor authentication;
• business logic vulnerabilities;

4. Sociotechnical work on security analysis

5. Basic Reverse Engineering Skills

What to expect

Unfortunately, we will not be able to invite everyone to an internship - therefore, prior to its commencement, initial testing will be conducted. After that, every week, experts from Positive Technologies will hold two classes for two hours. Days of classes will be appointed at the beginning of each new week.

Before each lesson, interns will receive teaching materials for initial training, and upon completion, homework assignments to consolidate and test their knowledge.

When the internship program is completed, we will arrange another final test, the results of which, we hope, will have several new employees in our company.
