LSB 4 - pro et contra

I recently read the news about the forthcoming release of the fourth release of Linux Standards Base, which, according to some, should put an end to the diversity of standards in the Linux API.

But is it good? On the one hand - of course, thanks to standardization in the main distributions (which “want” to standardize, of course) there will not be such a large number of “bicycles”, and the stability of different static assemblies will also increase. That is, it can attract developers of proprietary software, which will have a positive impact on the development of Linux ... And just the development of the program should be made easier ...

But after all, it is for “bikes” that very many linux love :) The ability to realize anything by various means - whatever one may say, one of the main delights of linux. My humble opinion.
Therefore, I do not even know how to treat this ... I'm confused ...

And what do you think?
