"Yandex" earned $ 72 million in advertising

$ 72 million is the size of Yandex’s non-audited revenue in 2006, the company said, summing up preliminary financial results. Compared with last year’s figure, this is more than a widow's greater result. Recall that in 2005, Yandex revenue amounted to $ 35.6 million, with net profit of $ 13.6 million.

The structure of revenues is indicated, more than 80% of which were sales of contextual advertising - search (including Yandex.Market ) and thematic (including the Yandex Advertising Network ). Media (banner) advertising brought the rest - the company doubled its sales in a year.

But Yandex pays special attention to its main source of income, indicating that the number of advertisers in the Yandex.Direct system has grown one and a half times over the past year. Thus, “contextual” campaigns during this period led more than 30 thousand clients. In total, in 2006, Yandex.Direct showed more than 11 billion ads.

“In 2006, Yandex offered contextual advertising customers a whole range of new tools designed to make Yandex Direct services available to wider segments of advertisers: autofocus, auto budget, the ability to place their phones and addresses,” the company summarizes. She notes that, as part of the service, the entry price threshold has been lowered - to a minimum transition cost of 30 kopecks.

The Yandex Advertising Network, into which private sites are accepted from the end of the year, has expanded. At the end of the year, the cumulative traffic of its participating sites is commensurate with the traffic on the Yandex portal.
