It is noted that we are talking about any devices and carriers that can store information in digital or analog format: hard drives, flash drives, cell phones, iPods, PDAs, video and audio tapes.
New rules apply to both foreigners and US citizens. It is noted that the devices can be removed for an indefinite period , necessary in order to verify the information contained in them.
At the same time, the data itself can be copied by employees of federal services and freely transferred to private organizations for decryption or for translation from a foreign language.
After checking, copies of all data should be destroyed, but at the same time, federal agents can save all their extracts or notes, as well as summary information on the information found on computers.
Representatives of the Ministry of National Security note that these measures are aimed exclusively at combating terrorism. According to them, they have long been secretly practiced at many airports, but the heightened public interest made it publicly declare this.
