Announced in June, a full-text video search function appeared on YouTube. The video material is published together with a special layer of metadata, in which is the accompanying text. The developers claim that speech recognition and the creation of a metadata layer is automatic. Thus, the content of the video can now be easily indexed by search engines. For example, you can quickly find a record of each phrase spoken by a politician during his life.
The example with politicians is given for a reason. The point is not only that they often contradict themselves throughout their careers, and now it can be easily revealed. The point is also that at the moment full-text search is available only on selected videotapes dedicated to the election campaign in the United States: these promotions of McCain and Obama are also some other political materials. Full-text search on them is carried out from the page You Choose .
While watching a video with metadata, just hover over the status bar so that the accompanying text appears.
