How to choose ITshnika in Russia: myth number 4, number 5

Myth 4: “I need a young professional from 25 years old with 30 years of experience”.

Naturally, every entrepreneur wants to see a young and energetic team in his company. But this does not happen. Let's be honest, if a person has not started working as a freelancer at school - he will not have work experience when graduating from a university. Maximum - a couple of years on a part-time basis. Therefore - a golden mean is needed here.

Myth 5: “Programmers are universal employees”

In the 90s, people who could reinstall Windows (or Linux) were called a hacker who could write a program, hack a site, and repair a teapot. Then it was due to the fact that IT - was the lot of geeks who were engaged in self-education. People collected knowledge, absorbed all the information they found. In 2016, there is no information hunger and the Russian guys can fully dive into one narrow sphere. A JavaScript programmer will not write the server part on Go or develop a driver on Pure C. And this is not because he is not a competent program, but simply this is not his specialization. Therefore, we accept the fact that the programmer is not a universal jack of all trades. He solves a narrow, intrinsic range of tasks. And even if he administers the server, this does not mean that he will do it as well as a professional sysadmin.
