Rosfinmonitoring is consulting with the parties interested in introducing the official Russian cryptocurrency - representatives of banks, the Treasury and the Central Bank. This news appeared on the site
Kommersant . There is no bill yet, but it is reported that this currency will be:
- with regulated emissions;
- with licensed issuers;
- with regulated exchange plans;
- without anonymity.
I would like to remind that the bill banning circulation of cryptocurrency and other “money substitutes” on the territory of Russia was posted on the portal
regulation.gov.ru .
According to the source of Kommersant, the banks have not yet shown particular interest in this idea.
Why did I write this here? Honestly I do not know. In my opinion, this idea, to put it mildly, is doubtful. The use of blockchain technology will make bank transfers cheaper, however, the need for issuer licensing and regulated emissions will nullify this dubious plus. Who wants to spend their computing power on such an event? In my opinion, this “cryptocurrency” will not cause much demand from the average person either - the majority of the population does not know what it is, and those who know will naturally ask themselves the question “what for?” And “do I need it under such conditions”. What do you think about this?
