A big Xbox 360 software update is coming this fall. All details are still unknown, but some information has already been declassified. In this post I write about what became known from official sources. So, let's begin.
Ability to play from hard disk
Copy your game from the game disc and play directly from the hard drive. You no longer need to listen to the noise of the drive, and the games will start loading much faster. A small caveat - to start, you still have to insert the game disc into the drive to check for licensing.
Access to the Xbox LIVE Marketplace
Search and buy the desired content from the Marketplace will now be available from the Xbox.com site. Everything you purchase will automatically download to your Xbox 360.
Dashboard is built into the new Xbox Guide. Now all the features of the Dashboard are available in the Xbox Guide. You can get instant access to your library of games at any time. No matter where you are (in the Dashboard or in the game), call the list of your games and start the game right away.
LIVE Party System Now you can team up with friends in one group of 8 people and play such a “gang” in different games, watch Netflix movies or watch your personal photos. This feature works in all games for the Xbox 360, and not just appeared later. LIVE Party allows 8 people to chat on the Dashboard, so that they can chat before the game.
Xbox LIVE Primetime A new category of games will appear that you definitely want to play with your friends online. Peculiar quizzes where each participant needs to answer a few questions. Naturally, in these games there will be Achievements, and boards with the names of the leaders, but in some of them real prizes will be played.
Avatars Gamertag has grown to Personal Gamercard! Now this is not just a card with a picture from any game, now it's a whole character! You can change his style, change clothes. Avatars will be integrated into the Xbox LIVE Arcade and LIVE Party as well as in full games.
New display support Added 16X10 mode and support for 1440x900 and 1680x1050 resolutions.
