Yesterday, many Twitter users noticed a sharp decline in the number of "friends." This is due to the fact that the developers decided to upgrade the database and they did not succeed.
Nobody warned users about the upgrade. Therefore, when their friends began to disappear, a real panic began. One after another, messages began to appear with headlines such as
“Return my friends” ,
“The biggest Twitter crash in 2008” ,
“Twitter finds new, creative ways to break .
”The developers recognized the problem,
closed the service for maintenance and opened it in a couple of hours. Even after that, the number of friends almost all users turned out to be smaller than it was before (they are now
returning as the base recovers).

')
Initially, the developers did not explain what was the cause of the problem. A
version immediately appeared that this incorrectly worked out a new system for finding and filtering spam, which
was just now being introduced . Under the spammer pattern are too active users with an unusually large number of friends, in which the new "followers" are added more often than usual. But then Beise Stone still gave an
official comment and admitted that antispam has nothing to do with it. The point is an error when upgrading the database.
