
Every day, hundreds of new applications appear on the App Store — Apple has
created a separate “secret team” of developers within the company to sort applications. The main task of the new team will be to change the application display algorithms in the search with the potential possibility of paying for the first search positions for an additional fee.
The new team of engineers consists of 100 specialists, part of which was redirected from such projects as iAd and several others. The basic concept of paid placement in the App Store search will allow developers to acquire places for their own applications, which will simplify their search by keywords for users. A similar principle works in Google search - the company displays a whole block of advertisements for local businesses.

For Apple, this solution can solve several problems - to simplify the search for users who may have difficulty finding the required application of their more than 1.5 million applications in the App Store. By placing some applications in the first places on the App Store, users will immediately be redirected to the appropriate search query applications, as well as increase Apple’s revenue from the App Store through additional advertising budgets for developers.
But for the vast majority of developers, this approach will have a negative impact on development. Now in the App Store, and so there is a huge competition. Adding ad placement to the first positions of the application store can only be complicated by the fact that novice developers have no advertising budgets at the level of the main players in the mobile application market.
Of course, it is too early to talk about exactly what innovations await the App Store in the near future. But the creation of such a development team definitely shows the desire of Apple to finalize the App Store, making it more convenient for users and more attractive for developers.
