Today it became known that the Chinese taxi service
Didi Kuaidi entered into a new agreement with the taxi service
Lyft . Didi mobile app will help Chinese tourists use Lyft effectively. The latter offers its services in almost 200 US cities.
From April 13, Chinese Didi users will be able to book Lyft trips while traveling in the USA without leaving the mobile app. Cities like New York, Washington, Los Angeles and San Francisco are popular with Chinese tourists.
The cost of travel will be converted into yuan, and Chinese services of Alibaba and Tencent will be available for payment. Moreover, Didi will provide its compatriots with the services of an in-app translator to help them quickly get started in the USA.

The Chinese tourist boom has sharply increased the demand for services for Chinese traveling abroad (and there are more than 100 million of them).
Partners have also provided for the opposite option - foreigners in China will also have the opportunity to use the Didi application through Lyft in the second quarter of this year,
according to TechCrunch, citing a statement from company representatives.
Lyft launches a similar service for residents and American tourists in Southeast Asia with
Grab Taxi . This service operates in Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore and the Philippines.
Didi also hopes for similar cooperation with other Uber competitors around the world.
Didi Kuaidi is a “clone” and the strongest competitor to Uber in China. The company was founded in 2012 as a result of the merger of the two largest taxi services in the country - Didi Dache and Kuaidi Dache. Didi Kuaidi controls more than 83% of the Chinese taxi market.
In February, Megamind
wrote that in a new round of financing, the Chinese company received at least $ 1 billion.
In the autumn, Lyft taxi service
announced a partnership with Didi, saying that the latter in 2015 invested $ 100 million in the company. Lyft CEO John Zimmer called this deal "the first step towards global reach": "This is just the beginning of our broad partnership that will include financial, technological and product components."
Didi also invested in
Ola Cabs, India’s largest taxi service, and GrabTaxi, a similar Malaysian company.
Didi invests mainly in Uber’s Asian rivals. After all, the countries of Southeast Asia are of great interest for taxi services: their total population is about 600 million people, many of them live in large cities and actively use smartphones.
