Today, NTT Data division of the Japanese telecommunications company NTT Group announced the purchase of one Dell computer unit called Dell Services, formerly Perot Systems, for $ 3.05 billion. Due to the deal, NTT Data plans to increase its presence in the North American market, in which Dell Services is quite in demand in the financial, industrial, health and government sectors. In addition, the merger of companies will provide NTT Data with a large portfolio of business-specific solutions and, through extensive experience, Dell Services will expand the list of potential customers.
For NTT Data, this takeover is the largest since the company’s existence, and after the completion of the deal with Dell Services, the combined company will be headed by the current CEO, John McCain. Nevertheless, the amount of the transaction was lower than analysts had assumed in recent months, but there is no information on the reasons for this. According to sources familiar with the deal, the head of Dell Services Suresh Vasvani will leave the company after the completion of the deal, but will continue to work in tandem with Michael Dell.

For Dell, the sale of Dell Services will be one of the total sales in the acquisition and privatization of EMC for $ 67 billion. This deal first became known in October last year, and even then Dell CEO Michael Dell promised to quickly compensate for some of the money spent by selling existing units . At the core of Dell Services is Perot Systems, which Dell swallowed up in 2009 for $ 3.9 billion - with this in mind, the deal for the company in the long run brought only losses.
After the sale of Dell Services, the next in line can be Quest Software, absorbed by Dell in 2012 for $ 2.4 billion. As of now, Quest Software costs about $ 10 billion - this is exactly what Dell expects to receive after sales.
As part of the sale, Dell turned to a number of IT consulting firms, including Tata Consultancy Services, Genpact, Atos, and several others.
