Around the world, interest is growing in an alternative to Wi-Fi networks - wireless optical Internet, where access to the Web is distributed directly from an LED light bulb. For example, you can listen to music through lighted storefronts or download movies from a street lamp.
The developer of one of these technologies, the Russian-Israeli company
RIT Technologies , told investors about financial difficulties. They are associated with delays in receiving payments for their products from a distributor in Russia and the CIS - RIT CIS, also part of the
Stins Coman group . All because of it - "the current economic situation in this region," believes the leadership of RIT.
The company is forced to cut staff. In addition, she requested a loan of $ 3 million from Stins Coman. RIT expects to receive this amount by the beginning of April 2016. Prior to this, the company has already raised from its shareholder $ 32.9 million in the form of a convertible loan.
The Stins Coman Group, whose main shareholder is Sergey Anisimov, was established in 1992 and currently includes 14 companies that provide services for system integration and the creation of IT infrastructure. In addition, Stins Coman includes a non-core asset - the Giprogazoochistka company, which provides engineering services to fuel and energy companies, including LUKOIL, Bashneft and Rosneft.
However, even Stins Coman itself has a difficult financial situation. The interlocutors of Kommersant
heard about the decline in revenues of Giprogazoochistki (the most profitable direction of the company's business). Because of this, "Sergey Anisimov had difficulties in financing the IT business." The owner of one of the largest IT-holdings in Russia told Kommersant that Stins Coman owed them about $ 500,000.

RIT is developing solutions for the centralized management of the infrastructure of data centers, the creation of optical wireless communications inside buildings and the construction of structured cabling systems in office buildings.
RIT was founded in 1989 by Ofer Bengal and has been trading on the NASDAQ since 1997. In 2008, the Stins Coman group acquired a controlling stake in RIT. The company's revenue for the three quarters of 2015 amounted to $ 12.3 million, net profit - $ 0.2 million.
Sergey Anisimov in February 2014
told Forbes that he hopes to make the
BeamCaster laser system developed by RIT an alternative to cable networks and Wi-Fi. “The entrepreneur is ready not to demand quick returns from BeamCaster: the annual revenue of the Stins Coman group reaches $ 250 million, he can afford to invest in R & D,” the publication reported.
Beamcaster technology transmits data via an invisible laser beam. So, according to the developer, the speed of the transmitted signal is up to 10 Gb / s.
As the representative of RIT notes, the technology of data transmission by means of a laser beam is focused on those areas of use where safety, high throughput, scalability and minimal electromagnetic radiation are required.
RIT hoped to occupy 10-15% of the Russian market for short-range subscriber access wireless devices. Thus, we can talk about tens of thousands of installed devices annually. According to the company, the devices of this system show interest in military, industrial and medical institutions.
