Excursion to the nanocluster of Denmark: 4 different departments

There is a Danish Technical University (DTU) in Denmark. A nanocluster DanChip was organized at the university, a tour of which we suggest you look at.

For those who were surprised to discover Denmark on the radar of advanced scientific countries, we’ll tell you in more detail.

If you look at the map of the countries of the world, where the main export item of each country is shown (careful, heavy picture ), you can see that the post-Soviet countries export oil and gasoline, and tiny Denmark - “scientific instruments and machinery”. A kilogram of oil is still cheaper than a kilogram of microprocessors =) Well, one should not forget that a lot of IT-technologies are made in Denmark: PHP, Ruby on Rails, Google Chrome engine, etc. The Erlang language, the BlueTooth technology and the boron chemical element are named after the great Danes.
')
Therefore, it is not surprising that Denmark has its own little Silicon Valley.

Here, DanChip has Maxim Plakhotnyuk from Vinnitsa (Ukraine), who is creating a new technology for manufacturing solar cells - seeking to achieve their production at room temperature.

Maxim gave us a tour of all the sights, and we did subtitles in Russian, so that you too could watch.

The tour consists of four small parts.

Part 1: DanChip Nanotechnology Center.

DanChip is essentially a nano-laboratory right at the university.

You can see a “clean room”, a simulator of sunlight, a silicon crystal and the protective form of laboratory workers.

Part 2: DTU corporate store.

When the university opened a shop with branded goods - from t-shirts to periodic tables. But it is not just like that.

Maxim reveals cards: DTU is a corporation that advertises itself on all fronts, even through souvenir products!

Including he tells the story of a student who re-invented the trash, and how she received millions of investments under her startup.

Part 3: Library

At the university, of course, there must be a library.

The peculiarity of this library is that there are almost no books in it . But there are free video consoles, 3D printers and plotters in the public domain.

Note on the margins from the operator: especially the abundance of girls of the eastern appearance in hijabs, especially in the library, is striking.

Part 4: DTU Skylab startup lab.

Perhaps this is the most striking part of the tour.

New materials are hanging on the stand and waiting in the wings. Startups (including those already successful) are waiting for employees. Famous companies hold seminars to share the "secrets of success" and to recruit new employees. Freely accessible metal and carpentry shops, legal assistance, investments - all within the distance of the dreamer's outstretched hand.

The expression “ make your dreams come true ” is found eight times in an interview!

In general, we wish you a pleasant viewing.

Do not forget to include Russian subtitles!

And subscribe to the channel - there will be a continuation and perhaps an introductory course on nano-technologies (in Russian).
