This year, an antitrust lawsuit against Google began - the company was accused of misusing a dominant position in the application market thanks to Google Play. The main reason was the ban on pre-installation of third-party applications for vendors who used Android.
To solve this problem, the FAS offered to get rid of contracts that forbid them to install third-party software in contracts with mobile device vendors, and as a result, the Moscow Arbitration Court took the side of the authorities. Until now, Google has tried to cancel the decision of the FAS, which recognized for the company a violation of the law "On Protection of Competition."

“No, Google is behaving aggressively, Google is not turning anywhere. Google protects its legal rights, which is a normal procedure. Well, we protect the interests of our companies, the interests of competition, so I no longer believe in any compromises, ” said the head of the antimonopoly service, Igor Artemyev.
In case of losing the appeal, Google can be fined in the amount of 1-15% of the total revenue of Google Play in Russia for 2014. According to official data, the FAS wants to impose a fine of 7%, but even this amount is unlikely to suit Google, exactly as the official admission of violation of the law. This decision can directly affect the company's image in the domestic and foreign markets.
Presumably, in 2014 Google Play in Russia earned about $ 40.5 million, in this case the penalty would have been about $ 2.8 million. So far, Google tried to challenge the FAS decision, but on March 14 the Moscow Arbitration Court recognized it as legitimate.
