Visa Checkout expands geography, and MasterPass "settles down" in Russia

image The international payment system Visa announced the release of its “smart” payment solution Visa Checkout to the markets of France, India, Ireland, Poland, Spain and the UK. The service allows buyers to make online payments using a computer, tablet or mobile phone. After the first registration, users get access to a protected account, which will contain information about the delivery and billing information of the client. In addition, Visa guarantees the security of payments made using Visa Checkout. Buyers can make a payment by entering a username and password and clicking the "Pay" button.

Visa Checkout service was launched in 2014 in Canada, the USA and Australia and earned positive feedback from online buyers. Visa plans to expand the geography of the Visa Checkout service in order to use the potential of the annually growing e-commerce market worldwide.

In the meantime, Visa is only going to bring its product to Runet, a similar service developed by MasterCard - MasterPass is already successfully operating in Russia. This service allows you to make instant payments, collecting under one button both payment instruments (cards, e-wallets) and delivery information. The PayOnline electronic payment system was one of the first in Runet that introduced online stores the ability to connect payment acceptance through MasterPass . To date, only PayOnline payment acceptance through MasterPass has connected more than 1,500 e-commerce companies.

This payment tool is currently in demand among the most “advanced” Russian payers, and payment services have a lot of “educational” work with the Russian audience, which will result in the introduction of “instant” payments into use by online shoppers. A similar transitional situation was observed in the 2000s with ordinary bank cards, which today have become the usual method of payment for more than 40% of Internet users in Russia
