SoundCloud , a popular music service designed for downloading and listening to music, recently appointed Alison Moore as the head of revenue (CRO). Previously, Alison Moore
worked at NBCUniversal and HBO, and now
she will develop the conditions for launching a service on a paid subscription within SoundCloud.
To realize the possibility of making a paid subscription, SoundCloud management took several years to work out and make agreements with major music labels such as
Universal Music Group and others. SoundCloud was originally created for the distribution of music content by novice performers, but lately the platform has become especially popular with well-known musicians. One of these was Kanye West, who released his own songs from new albums in SoundCloud.

Alison Moore has several leading positions - she worked at HBO from 2003 until 2010 and took the position of senior vice president of digital products, after which she developed the company's products on new platforms. Subsequently, she was engaged in a similar under the brand NBCUniversal and the internal project TV Everywhere - she launched applications for various platforms, worked to popularize the brand among potential audiences. Given the rich experience, it remains to be hoped that within SoundCloud it will be able to apply it exclusively in the right field and the introduction of a subscription to services will not scare away old and new users of the service.
Nevertheless, it is too early to speculate on the success of SoundCloud due to the presence of a large number of competitors in the face of Spotify, Apple Music and several others. Last year, SoundCloud Business Development Director Jeff Tog joined Tidal as CEO, and since then there have been rumors about possible reshuffles within the company. It is noteworthy that, until recently, SoundCloud did not have a CRO position that was taken by Alison Moore.
