Instagram has announced 200 thousand active advertisers



Today, Instagram officially announced 200,000 monthly active advertisers. For comparison, on Twitter this figure is at the level of 140 thousand, and on Facebook there are more than 2 million monthly advertisers. But the most important thing is that only a few hundred advertisers were registered on Instagram back in June. The growth is particularly indicative of the background of Twitter, whose management is recently going to actively refine the social network in order to regain popularity for new users and advertisers .

The explosive growth in the number of advertisers occurred five months ago - then the support of various countries on Instagram has expanded significantly. Moreover, according to Instagram business development director James Quarles, almost 75% of social network advertisers are outside the United States.

Foreign advertisers have repeatedly noted the effectiveness of Instagram, but it all depends on the specific segment. Thus, the German supermarket chain Rewe said about 37% of the best advertising figures, and the Brazilian company PetLove reported a 30% reduction in the cost of each installation.

Trends in advertising demonstrate a high interest of users to Instagram - in recent studies, about 60% of users admitted that they learned about products from the social network. And 75% said they made the decision to purchase something or install the application after advertising on Instagram.

Against the background of such growth advertisers can think about the deterioration of user experience, but this is not quite true. According to James Quarles, a greater number of advertisers will only allow relevant ads to appear. To improve this, Instagram representatives work with each of the advertisers to provide users with the most accurate advertising for a particular brand, which will allow them to form a correct opinion about the brand.

The statement by Instagram representatives seems quite logical, but few social networks manage to maintain a balance in the ratio of advertising to the amount of interesting content for the user. But in the cases with Instagram, this is unlikely to somehow affect the growth of the audience due to the large “margin of safety” and active support from Facebook, which is only in the hands of business owners of all segments.
