The Chinese market remains one of the most sought after for many manufacturers of mobile devices. Over the past years,
Apple and other mobile vendors have shown interest in this market. Local companies are not going to give in - Huawei, which is currently the third largest smartphone manufacturer in the world by the number of sold devices,
announced plans to circumvent Apple and Samsung in the next five years. And in the next two to three years, Huawei plans to become the second mobile vendor in the world.
“Maybe I'm not too modest, but four years ago, no one knew who we were. Even in China.
')
We entered the American market late, but we will be successful in the future. We need time to form a brand. Our devices are good, but people do not know about them yet. Despite the saturation of the smartphone market, Huawei has the potential to grow, ”said the head of Huawei’s mobile unit, Richard Yu, to journalists in Barcelona.
Last year, Huawei shipped about 100 million devices and easily overtook such companies as Motorola and HTC. Nevertheless, bypassing Apple or Samsung by the number of devices sold is a far more difficult task. To do this, Huawei will have to pay much more attention to the US market, but for now the company's position is relatively weak compared to most other brands in this market.
Compared to 2014,
Huawei showed an increase in 2015 of 44.3%, while the growth over the same period from Samsung was 2.1%, and from Apple 20.2%, respectively. During the same period, Samsung was able to sell 324.8 million devices, against 231.5 million from Apple.

Most interesting of all, the share of Huawei, like Samsung, primarily grows at the expense of inexpensive smartphones, while Apple sells smartphones in the price range above $ 500. Therefore, the leadership of Huawei should focus not only on the market share of their devices, but also on their average cost to increase the company's profits while continuing to grow in the markets of other countries.
In 2015, Huawei followed Lenovo with 74 million and Xiaomi with 70.8 million units sold. The potential of the latter is similarly positively evaluated by investors - in the coming years, these brands can begin to compete for first places on the market in terms of the number of devices sold. However, the first place in terms of profit remains for Apple - not a single mobile vendor has managed to get closer to the company from Cupertino on this indicator.
