In 2015, the
revenue of VimpelCom, which owns the VimpelCom operator, better known under the Beeline brand, fell by 29% to $ 9.6 billion, compared to $ 13.5 billion a year earlier. It is noteworthy that in 2014, the fall in profits was only 13%, and the increase in fall in 2015 was due to the volatility of exchange rates.
The rest of the organic revenue of the company, which does not take into account the exchange rate, subsidiaries, mergers or other operations in the market when interacting with third-party companies, grew by only 1%. Moreover, growth is mainly due to successful development in countries such as Pakistan, Bangladesh, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.

In terms of EBITDA, which shows the level of profit before deducting expenses on interest payments, taxes and accrued depreciation, VimpelCom's income fell by 49% from $ 5.6 to $ 2.9 billion, and the loss was $ 851 million. But it is also significant that even in rubles fell by 1% from 281.9 to 278.4 billion. With services requiring a permanent subscription, revenue fell by 12%, but it was compensated by the profit from data transmission services, which grew by 16% in the last quarter. In general terms, the Russian division of VimpelCom demonstrated a 3% decline in revenue and amounted to 71.7 billion rubles.
In terms of OIBDA, other telecom operators also show a decline - according
to the data of Sistema, which owns MTS operator, the operator showed a fall of 3.3% on an annualized basis. Now operators are paying more and more attention to attracting high-yield customers, but they are unlikely to be able to compensate for the general market trend towards lower communication costs.
Along with the crisis in the market, the profit of operators is influenced by the distribution of instant messengers among users of mobile devices. Recently, users prefer to transfer not only SMS-messages, but also ordinary telephone conversations in popular instant messengers.
