Source: TMT ConsultingOne of the reasons for the reduction in subscriber base and revenues of telecom operators is the transfer of corporate data users to 3G and LTE cellular networks. This reason calls the source "Vedomosti" with reference to the managers of
"Rostelecom" .
Revenues from corporate clients are reduced not only by Rostelecom, but also by other operators, ik
-Consulting CEO Maxim Savvatin notes. According to the preliminary data of the analytical company, in 2015 the revenue from business communication services for the first time decreased - by 1.5-2% to 148 billion rubles.
')
According to him, the revenue of the telephone segment fell by about 5%. The largest drop was demonstrated by income from long-distance and international communication services (7-8%). This fall softened the growth in revenues from data transmission services (about 4%), Savvatin believes.
In the public sector, the fall in revenues is associated with a crisis in the reduction of budgets for communication services, says TMT Consulting analyst Kirill Tatus.
The fall in revenues from fixed telephony is happening all over the world, said a representative of Rostelecom, Irina Zhabrova. The operator intends to compensate for this drop by increasing the share of services related to modern digital technologies: broadband access, cloud services, industrial Internet, data centers, geo-information technologies and others, she
told Vedomosti. In the first nine months of 2015, the share of such services in the company's revenue was 40%, says Zhabrova.
Revenue in the business segment can not be divided into revenues from fixed and mobile services - more and more corporate subscribers are using package offers, says
MTS representative Dmitry Solodovnikov.
For example, in Moscow, MGTS’s number of corporate subscribers connecting mobile and fixed-line packages in the first half of 2015 grew almost 2 times year to year, he says. Of course, they saved on fixed services, but began to pay the operator for mobile communications, notes Solodovnikov.
In 2015, MTS
became the fastest growing Internet provider in Russia, and the number of its Internet users grew by 7%.
The growth rate of the MTS subscriber base is almost twice as high as the national average.
The closest growth rate competitor of MTS, Transtelecom (
TTC ), increased its subscriber base by 4.1%. According to the very TTK - by 4.2%, said a company representative.
At the same time, in absolute terms, the base of broadband access users of Rostelecom grew the most: in 2015, it increased by 0.41 million to 10.9 million subscribers.
General Director of
TelecomDaily information agency Denis Kuskov and TMT Consulting analyst Irina Yakimenko explain the rapid growth rates of the MTS subscriber base by the network operator's modernization in the regions - in 2015 they accounted for more than half (53%) of growth.
The operator managed to connect to the broadband networks part of the former television viewers of analog cable and social TV, who used his networks, said Yakimenko.
At the same time, MTS (represented by its subsidiary MGTS) showed the highest growth rates in Moscow - its subscriber base in 2015 grew by 6.9% (the base of its closest competitor Rostelecom - by 3.6%), it is said in the TMT Consulting report.
