In the near future, unmanned vehicles may take a significant share of the market, and while they are being tested by some major technology giants. If Tesla has already released some analogue of this functionality for the latest generation of cars, then Google is only developing its car.
To develop such a project, a large number of specialized employees are required - Google recently
opened a recruitment of 36 specialists to the Google X project. Among the open vacancies, there are open for engineers related to the development of robotization systems, new sensors and other related elements.

The list of job vacancies includes a description for employees of marketing, use policy analysis from the point of view of legislative practice. Such a number of open vacancies may indicate that Google is actively beginning to develop this area.
“The project of an unmanned vehicle is aimed at improving the quality of life and the safety of movement of most people, regardless of their ability to drive. At the moment, our unmanned vehicles have traveled more than 1.2 million kilometers in California, ”- stated in the description of some vacancies.
In this market, Google is not the only one - Tesla is involved in the development of unmanned vehicles along with other companies. The main advantage of the latter is the presence of an established production of cars, while Google will only have to enter this market.
The rest of the players, such as
General Motors and others, are only actively investing in the development of unmanned vehicles. However, such exhibitions as CES and others are now focusing on the development of new unmanned vehicles. The main problem for the release of the first ready-made solutions is the legislation of the countries - local authorities are often not ready to certify unmanned vehicles due to the lack of adequate testing mechanisms. In addition, a couple of years usually pass from the first test to the receipt of a permit to start sales.
