Odnoklassniki launched their own payment system

Today, representatives of the social network Odnoklassniki reported on the launch of a money transfer service. At the time of launch transfers are available between users in the amount of not more than 8 thousand rubles. through the official partner bank "VTB 24".

The transfer is made from a connected bank card, taking into account the commission of 30 rubles. for amounts up to 500 rubles. and 60 rubles. for transfers in the amount of 500 to 8 thousand rubles. Among the declared supported cards are MasterCard, Visa and Maestro, issued by Russian banks and tied to a user account. If there are problems with payment, the entire amount will be returned to the sender's card minus the commission of 1.5-2% and will depend on the sender's bank, as well as the amount of the transfer.

If we consider that the daily audience of Odnoklassniki is at the level of 50 million visitors, and the users of the social network tied over 8 million active cards, then such a service can enjoy a certain popularity. The annual growth in the volume of payments using bank cards is almost 30%, and the profit from the purchase of gifts within the social network in this way amounted to about 4.4 billion rubles.

The main obstacle to the development of payment systems within large social networks may be distrust from users. So say the official representatives of Yandex. Money, who told about the unsuccessful testing of a similar service several years ago on Twitter.

However, according to Peter Darahvelizde, director of WebMoney Transfer development, on the contrary, users will positively perceive the transition to payment services integrated directly into social networks. Convenient integration without the need to constantly enter card details will play a key role in this.

The decision of Odnoklassniki to launch its own payment system occurred almost a year after the launch of a similar solution from Facebook . Back in March last year, the most popular social network launched a service for instant money transfer to users via Messenger. Only in the case of the decision from Facebook, users do not pay any fees for transferring funds to each other, and in the future, the management of the social network can add the ability to buy any goods through it.
