Tomorrow will be launched the National Register of Intellectual Property

The co-founder of the First Music Publishing House (PMI), Maxim Dmitriev, said that the publisher is participating in the creation of the National Register of Intellectual Property "for the formation and development of a legal and transparent market for intellectual property rights".

According to Vedomosti, the national register of intellectual property will be launched tomorrow (Thursday, January 28). There will be not only musical compositions, but also films. In addition, patents and other objects of intellectual property can also be entered into the register later. The registry is developed on the basis of software used by the National Digital Aggregator. The head of Rospatent, Grigory Ivliev, will take part in tomorrow's presentation of the registry, designed to “ensure the operation of the market of intellectual property rights, take stock of intellectual rights, monitor and analyze their use.”

The new project Maxim Dmitriev describes as follows: “We propose to create a voluminous base of intellectual property. On the basis of this database, an automated “meeting place” for users and right holders will be organized online, where they can easily and efficiently negotiate the licensing conditions for the use of objects of intellectual rights in any activity. ”

In addition, thanks to the registry, it will be possible to track cases of illegal distribution in the network of content registered in the resource. Internet monitoring is carried out through a special module that monitors offenders, which then receives a pre-trial notification.

Among the shareholders of the National Register of Intellectual Property JSC, which will manage the registry, are the National Digital Aggregator and Legend Project Groups. Each of these shareholders owns 30% of the project shares. The International Foundation for the Support of Legal Initiatives and the National Academy of Motion Picture Arts each represent 10% of the shares. In addition, the Russian State Academy of Intellectual Property owns a 20% stake.
