According to Recode, today, on the last day of the annual DLD conference, a report was delivered by Philipp Schindler, who is the senior vice president of global sales at Google.
In his speech, Schindler talked about how the “good corporation” perceives competition, and how it can take many different forms. “The competition in technology, and especially the competition among technology platforms, is now incredibly strong, I have not seen anything like it in the last ten years of my career,” said Schindler. Senior Vice President of World Sales noted that his company is far from establishing a monopoly, noting that competitors are advancing in areas that Google itself has discovered (machine learning and unmanned vehicles). According to Schindler, if he wakes up in the middle of the night, then first of all he is visited by thoughts of competition.
He describes Google’s approach to business as “horizontal,” which is working with partners such as publishers and Android phone manufacturers to offer their own services.

Also, Mr. Schindler did not miss the opportunity to compare the policy of a good corporation with the tactics of other IT giants. “The truth is that Apple, Facebook and Wechat have a different view of things,” he said.
This year’s DLD (Digital Life Design) annual conference was held in Munich from January 17 to 19. Next year's conference will be held in New York from May 3 to 4.
