Snapchat users are watching 7 billion videos daily

According to Business Insider , by the number of video views, the project of graduates from Stanford University has almost reached the largest social network in the world - Facebook. Over the past few months, Snapchat has seen a huge jump in this indicator - users are now daily watching about 7 billion videos. This is partly due to the emergence of the ability to download Snapchat Stories - short videos that users can share with each other, and which are available for viewing within 24 hours.

The number of views began to rise sharply last May, when the company registered 2 billion daily video views. In November 2015, this figure has tripled, reaching 6 billion views every day.

At the same time, Facebook announced that in November, social network users watched 8 billion videos every day. As is known, the brainchild of Mark Zuckerberg is the largest social network in the world, it is visited daily by about 1 billion users, while the army of Snapchat users is only 100 million people.

Mobile messaging service with attached photos and videos was born about five years ago - the first release of the application took place in September 2011. Currently, the company is estimated at $ 16 billion.

However, it’s not quite right to compare statistics of video views on Facebook with views statistics of Snapchat, since any video in a user's tape that runs and plays for more than three seconds counts as viewed (in the settings you can set automatic playback), and in Snapchat The user must click on the video.
