Roskomnadzor will inspect the storage of personal data of Russians in Russia by Microsoft, Ozon, LaModa, Wildberries, Vkontakte, Ostrovok.ru, Soup Media. In total, over a thousand inspections are scheduled for 2016, Kommersant reports.
Not all companies are prepared for the entry into force of the law on personal data. According to Telecom Exchange and 42Future, on average only
10% of the clients of the twenty largest data center providers in Russia completed the data transfer to the country in order to comply with the law On Personal Data, which entered into force on September 1, 2015.
Under the law in Russia fell more than two and a half million organizations. The Chinese company
Alibaba Group and the American
Apple were among the first to agree with the new legislation and prepare for the transfer of data, while Facebook initially
did not consider it necessary and possible to transfer user data to Russia.
In order to comply with the law “Personal Data Law” in 2016, Roskomnadzor
will inspect car dealers of Chrysler RUS CJSC, ROLF LLC, Volkswagen Group Rus LLC, Bentley LLC, Russian Association of Motor Insurers, Perekrestok Trading House CJSC , Recruitment company
HeadHunter , banks, a number of online stores and tour operators, including Ozon, LaModa and Wildberries, representative offices of Microsoft, Samsung, VKontakte and other IT companies.
