FAS accused Google LLC of violating the Advertising Act
According to the website of the Federal Anti-Monopoly Service, the other day, the Moscow OFAS Commission charged the Russian representative office of Google with a violation of the Advertising Law because of an announcement in Google Adwords that offers to buy a driver's license. The FAS inspected the user's complaint and, following the results of its investigation, found Google LLC violated paragraph 1 of Art. 7 of the current Law on Advertising. The reason for the verification and subsequent punishment was the appeal of an unknown citizen, who reported the distribution of "good corporation" in the well-known system of contextual advertising ads following:
“Driving Rights Buy www. ***. Ru Officially right without a driving school.Warranty Terms and Quality.Call! " ')
According to information from the official website of the Federal Anti-Monopoly Service, no other organization, except for the traffic police units established by current legislation, is not entitled to issue a driver's license to citizens. The situation was commented on by the deputy head of the Moscow OFAS Russia Irina Gudkova:
“A driver's license is not a product that can be bought or sold. Its receipt is allowed only in the manner prescribed by law, and what is offered in advertising is a direct violation of this order. In this regard, the distribution of advertising buying a driver's license is a gross violation of advertising legislation, namely, art. 7 of the Law on Advertising, which also prohibits the advertising of narcotic, psychotropic substances, explosives, etc. ”
Recall that last year the Federal Anti-Monopoly Service imposed a fine on Google LLC in the amount of 200 thousand rubles for distributing drug advertising without specifying the necessary information (side effects), and even earlier, FAS officials questioned the legitimacy of analyzing user messages in the Gmail mail service to display the most appropriate advertising, but then the check did not reveal any irregularities.
