Top 15 popular Internet resources in Russia and in the world at the end of 2015

Analysts at Goldman Sachs conducted a study of attendance of Internet resources. They analyzed attendance in 11 countries, including Russia.

The researchers formed a rating of the 15 most visited sites in 2015. On the first line of the RF list is the Yandex search engine, on the second place is the social network VKontakte , and only on the third - Google . Mail.ru and YouTube also hit the top five of Russia.

Facebook on the Russian list ranks ninth, while in other countries, not counting Japan, South Korea and China, it does not fall below the third.

Around the world, that is, in the overall standings, Google is the leader, ranked first in the ranking of seven of the 11 countries. Among them are the USA, Great Britain, Spain, Japan, Indonesia, India and Brazil, Business Insider reports .

As Interfax reported on December 9, the search engine Yandex named the most popular queries of 2015. The company tried to determine which events, people and events interested the Russians most of all this year.

According to Yandex, the service users were most interested in the explosion of the A321 plane of the Kogalymavia airline in the sky over Sinai, the military conflict in Syria, and the parade in honor of the 70th anniversary of the Victory. In addition, the top queries in the category “Events” include “the speech of Russian President Vladimir Putin to the UN”, “the crash of Su-24 in Syria” and “terrorist attacks in Paris”, as well as the solar eclipse and the action “Immortal Regiment”.
