In 2016, two new companies under the Fujitsu brand will be born.

Fujitsu is separating its PC and mobile device divisions into individual companies, trying to create more efficient enterprises that can compete for a place under the sun in the face of increased competition in these sectors of the market.

As a result of the division, which was reported only today, two new companies will be created. The first will be called Fujitsu Client Computing Limited, and it will include units for the production of PCs and laptops. The second will be created on the basis of the division of mobile technologies and will be called Fujitsu Connected Technologies. The separation is expected to be fully completed by February 1 of the coming year. Both Fujitsu will be owned by Fujitsu - at least for the time being no one has yet spoken about the sale of companies.

“In the context of the ongoing commoditization of common products, mainly PCs and smartphones, it has become even more difficult to achieve a distinction, and competition with emerging global vendors has intensified,” Fujitsu representatives explain the company's decision to separate the divisions into separate enterprises. The problem that the company is trying to fight in this way has affected all the major Japanese manufacturers of computer equipment.

According to recent rumors in the IT world, three large companies - Fujitsu, Toshiba and Vaio (a company that was previously part of Sony) - can merge their PC business, thereby creating a single powerful player in the market that will be able to compete with others market leaders. This information was commented by representatives of Fujitsu, noting that the company is still considering various solutions. Therefore, there are two possible scenarios: the Japanese PC maker decided to focus on creating a new two companies, or it could be the first step towards preparing for the subsequent merger, which was mentioned earlier.
